Silk cushions in Lizzo fabric, vintage lamps and 'Tribute to Basquiat' painting by Gwenda by commission
Large horizontal abstract and collage by Gwenda in gold-leaf custom frame.
To transform this open plan living room a multi-purpose space was designed for the client to work, dine, entertain and simply relax in comfort. Layered textures, patterns and colours and merged furniture styles from refurbished mid-century to contemporary combining teak, brass, leather, silks and velvet. The room is anchored by two large floor rugs and framed by all walls painted in Farrow & Ball 'Drawing room' blue with white trim and ceiling. Vintage table and floor lamps in varying styles create mood and ambience. Featured pieces are the Ralph Lauren French oak Trestle writing desk, which doubles as dining table, a pair of 50's chairs reupholstered in duck egg blue wool and an antique hexagonal brass side table.
Commissioned paintings sit alongside the client's art collection. The quirky painting titled 'The King' was a work recommended by Gwenda, personally sourced at the Southampton Art Fair. Several pieces of furniture were found on 1st Dibs or purchased from antique dealers and New York showrooms.
Commissioned artwork - abstract oil painting by Gwenda.
